Senior Living: Have We Got a Home for You!

Senior living at the Jewish HomeThe Los Angeles Jewish Home is a national leader in providing a full continuum of life-enhancing care for the body, mind, and spirit of seniors. With services ranging from independent living and skilled nursing care to pain management, comfort, and hospice care, residents of the Home journey through the phases of life with dignity and respect.

Here, we spotlight the Home's Residential Care program, which offers high quality care to independent seniors. This program is available to seniors who are capable of living at least semi-independently, have independent mobility, and are mentally alert.

At the Jewish Home, Residential Care includes medical care, fitness, and nutrition in a vibrant social, intellectual, and cultural environment.

Those in Residential Care have priority access to the full range of the Home's healthcare services, if needed. On the Home's beautifully landscaped grounds — dotted with sculptures, fountains, and intimate garden areas — residents have a lovely setting in which to read, gather with friends and family, or simply enjoy the sunshine. Delicious kosher meals are served in the Home's dining rooms.

Opportunities to enjoy new friendships and discover new talents abound at the Home. Days are full of activities, including:

  • Musical programs
  • Exercise classes, such as T'ai Chi and yoga
  • Creative arts programs
  • Lectures
  • Movie screenings
  • Clubs and social gatherings
  • Off-campus shopping, entertainment, and outings

"I love the opportunities we have here at the Home," says Grace Freedman, a resident for six years. "It's an ideal place to live!"

The Jewish Home does not discriminate, and is open to all seniors age 65 and over who are in need of our services. The Home cares for both low-income individuals and those with the means to pay for their care.
