The Brandman Centers for Senior Care
The Home's new Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) will soon deliver
world-renowned Jewish Home services to individuals 55 and over throughout the community
who have been assessed as nursing home eligible by medical professionals.
Envisioned as a multi-site regional senior healthcare network, the Brandman Centers will improve the well-being of our senior community at local care centers and in their own homes, enabling more of our growing senior population to live independently.
Each Center team will consist of a manager, primary care physicians, nurse, social worker, recreation therapist, occupation, physical and speech therapists, dietician and personal care aides. The Home's new "home without walls" model will coordinate the delivery of services to as many as 220 seniors in each team's area.
Each Center will offer primary and speciality medical care, nursing, social services, therapies, pharmaceuticals, home care, health-related transportation, and minor home modifications to accommodate disabilities.
Equally important to long-term well-being, the Brandman Centers' all-inclusive care provides "preventive" health services. Frequent medical check-ups, exercise and fitness programs, and dietary monitoring will also improve the quality of life for recipients of Brandman Centers care.
The new Brandman Centers will enable us to reach out with world-renowned compassionate, comprehensive Jewish Home care and services — improving lives, and keeping our seniors independent for as long as possible.
A $5 million gift from longtime local philanthropists Joyce and the late Saul Brandman provided initial funding for the project. The first of the Brandman Centers, to be located in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Center on the Home's Grancell Village Campus, is being made possible, in part, by a $1 million grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation.
